Default Drive Axles

Trying to get the drive axles back in, well they dont wanna go in, and needs to go in another inch.. both side.. i used sledge hammer with some wood against it, still wouldnt do trick, any ideas?

bump still havent gone in all the way, tryed putting pressure on them with putting tires on and lowering it.

Are they for sure the right axles? The C clip on the end of the axles might be hanging up in the tranmission. Make sure the clip isnt spread open to far
