Default Drag times between SI vs. GSR tranny??

Debating on choosing a tranny now is a bitch. I'll be starting a build soon and plan on hitting 200whp w/140 tq. My question is does anybody have time differences with both trannys or an idea of how much of a difference in the strip? Hmm..Decisions decisions....

I would go with the Si, since the gears are very similar to the R ratios. Using a 4.785 FD will help acceleration, but driving at 5K rpm is no fun on the highway.

At the strip you will see about .2 difference. 2-5th are all longer, but more notably, 3rd gear is quite a bit longer.

There are some advantages of the GSR tranny though. With higher tq engines where lots of tq is around 5k rpm, the longer gears come into play on street engines. You can keep your car in the sweet spot on the street. Also, the rpm is about 200 rpm lower in 5th hichway cruising.

Wow thats it??? I guess people overate these tranny swaps too much. Is this information accurate? -200rpm, i would rather get a SI tranny. It wouldn't even matter actually. .2 sec difference isn't even much.

I have a 95 eg with a jdm b16 attached to a gsr tranny, the gears are short enough.. if you were going to drive it at all for the street, go for the gsr. at 80mph im at around 4g's. its your call.

What tranny are you running currently? I'm speaking about the GSR.
