yesterday when i was driving.. i tried to open my door at a stop light but when i tried to unlock it manually... it was loose and wouldn't unlock. i have power door locks but no switch. it locks automaticaly when i turn on the ignition and unlocks automaticlally when i turn it off. has this ever happened to anyone? i'm scared that if im driving and have to exit the vehicle immediately i wont be able to...

Re: door locks broke (brand0)
thats crazy ? same problem here .. mine broke yesterday. seems to me you have some type of aftermarket door acturators.
do you see any added part in door. you should see a power motor thats is latched on to your lock/unlock bar.. you would need to release tension. by removing small skrews on acturator. to get door open. then just go to your local honda parts place . to find piece that is broken.. i need same part.

yeah when it first happened i was thinking about breaking the other side too but it just feels weird not being able to open your door when the engines on..

Re: door locks broke (brand0)
My brother- hatchy-ownzjo0 - had this happen to him probably two and a half weeks ago. He took all the pieces out and JB welded them back together. I was skeptical, but God bless if it hasn't held up to many locks and unlocks since then. Seems good as new. First good experience I've ever had with this **** (and by I, I guess I mean my brother since he did it himself and required none of my help )

So then fix it. What's the big deal?
A new replacement door lock/handle assembly is $71 + tax from Honda, assumng this is a '92-95 Civic. A used one is much cheaper from a junkyard.
