door locks broke

Default door locks broke

yesterday when i was driving.. i tried to open my door at a stop light but when i tried to unlock it manually... it was loose and wouldn't unlock. i have power door locks but no switch. it locks automaticaly when i turn on the ignition and unlocks automaticlally when i turn it off. has this ever happened to anyone? i'm scared that if im driving and have to exit the vehicle immediately i wont be able to...

thats crazy ? same problem here .. mine broke yesterday. seems to me you have some type of aftermarket door acturators.
do you see any added part in door. you should see a power motor thats is latched on to your lock/unlock bar.. you would need to release tension. by removing small skrews on acturator. to get door open. then just go to your local honda parts place . to find piece that is broken.. i need same part.

at least thieves cant open your door by sticking there hands in and trying to unlock it

yeah when it first happened i was thinking about breaking the other side too but it just feels weird not being able to open your door when the engines on..

do the doors lock automatically because of your aftermarket alarm?? if so you can take it in and ask them to remove that feature i had the same thing.... my car was broken in to so now i have decided to break both of my lock thingys

My brother- hatchy-ownzjo0 - had this happen to him probably two and a half weeks ago. He took all the pieces out and JB welded them back together. I was skeptical, but God bless if it hasn't held up to many locks and unlocks since then. Seems good as new. First good experience I've ever had with this **** (and by I, I guess I mean my brother since he did it himself and required none of my help )

So then fix it. What's the big deal?

A new replacement door lock/handle assembly is $71 + tax from Honda, assumng this is a '92-95 Civic. A used one is much cheaper from a junkyard.

you can get em for like 55 new, still spendy though. This is very common, happened to me as well. Just find a replacement, their on ebay a lot.

mine did that too lol. luckily i had a spare set laying around.

for now you can just push the rod by finger like i had to do for two weeks
