door ajar light in 92 civic w/ dash swap

door ajar light in 92 civic w/ dash swap
just finishing up my dash swap and i'm interested in adding as many of the original features of the integra dash as i can. As i understand, the oem (or most oem) 92 95 civics do not have the door ajar light feature. I have a few small questions before i get started and possibly screw something up.
After doing some research, i found the light green/red wire in the 13 pin plug goes to door ajar light on the integra cluster. Does this wire provide 12v(directly from the cluster i assume) at all times, and a ground to the door trigger is what activates the light? would connecting this light green/red wire directly to the door switch result in the light coming on when the door is open?
I haven't tried anything yet, i'm researching and brainstorming ideas until tomorrow after school when i can get a chance to work on it. thanks for any help
