Default entry light/dome light

is there any reason my entry light would not work with the dash pulled out of my 96 prelude (including tach/cluster)? the dome light works when i flip the switch to ON, but it wont work when the light switch is on "door" with either of the door opened. when the driver door is open the ignition light turns on and it will make the ringing noise when i leave my lights on and open the door. any reason my entry light does not work with the dash out?
im in the process of installing my alarm system (python 1090) and was wondering if i splice the green(door trigger) with the black/white?(dome light) and run it to the driver and passenger door triggers(isolated with diodes), when i unlock my car will it illuminate the dome light?
any info is appreciated!

There is a short some were in the door wire. You can simple retag each door and tag it to the piller door trigger wire and everything will work again.

that would be why my entry light does not work but the chime and ingnition light work.
thanks though!

Your door chime does not have to do with anything with the door switches. There is a key sence button on the key cylinder. You have two options, The hard way by tracing the short. OR re-wire it to factory like above.

what does the key sense button have anything to do with this? in my OP i said "when the driver door is open the ignition light turns on and it will make the ringing noise when i leave my lights on and open the door." meaning when i open my door(no key in the ignition) the ignition cylinder light turns on and if i turn my parking lights on the chime will ring.

reading owns me on that one. I have a 96 lude that we are working on now. I will go over this one to see if I can figure out your problem and trace this car circuit.
