Default Don't be mad, but another IACV Post

Ok, i have posted twice now, about my gsr in a eg, just finished intalling a bunch of bolt ons, head work, and new valvetrain and cams, now i started it, and it idles between 1,000 and 2,300 back an forth, well the two hole that are just inside the throttle body that go to the IACV, when you put your finger over one of them, it idles fine, but if you unplug the sensor, it doesnt do anything, it still idels wrong, but like i said, if you plug one of the holes, it idles, fine, what does this mean i need to do, clean the iacv, get a new one, or is it something electrical, PLEASE HELP, going nuts trying to figure this out. Thanks

i swaped a b18a1 in my hatch and i had so many idle problems, i needed a new IACV, had to adjust TPS, and has to get a new throttle body gasket, yours sounds like the IACV, have you taken of the plate on the IACV and made sure its all the way screwed in? you may also just need a new one like i did, if you take it off and shake it and u hear sumthing rattle u may need a new one

might sound stupid, but try bleeding your coolant system if you've removed your head, air will get in there and make the idle irregular. Also just try reducing your idle speed with the idle adjustment screw

If so, it is your fast idle valve, replace it.

I have the same problem as you right now, I swapped throttle body and it idle okay, but it wasn't my IACV because i swapped with a buddies. I'm thinking it's the fast idle valve also, and will replace it. Eats so much gas it makes me go nuts lol.
