When you switch out your Stock headunit for an aftermarket one, they will stop working. Theres something in the stock unit that controls door lights and lock remote (factory one). PM NOFX, she explains this ordeal better than i can, lol. You can actually do soemthing to make it work again.
If you still have the stock head unit installed, it may be a bad switch in the door jam.

Aftermarket deck, not installed yet, but no stock deck around. Brand new door switches. They used to work fine, when the car had an alarm ( keyless entry worked ) but after the wreck, I took out the old alarm and waiting for new.
ll try PM NOFX, thx Mike

Re: (C-West Civic)
My car did this too and the wiring under the dash was cut by the previous owner. You may want to check their too and I have an aftermarket deck and now it works after finding the wiring problem.

Only wires are cut are a blue and a green coming from the old stock radio harness for a power and a ground that they had the old alarm hooked up to. I can be sure that there no other wires cut, because I had the whole dash and wire harness out of the car.
