DOHC Vs. SHOC?
I just boughta 95 EX d16dz and I just wanted some opinions as to what motor is better all around to build up and get more HP?? let's say all motor? or a turbo set up? I've heard that the d16dz is the most reliable engine Honda made is this true? I am New to Honda-Tech and will be asking plenty of noob questions!!!!!!
Cheers!

I see you are a new person to this forum =P. I recommend using the search button up top before asking noob questions. We were all a noob once so its better to let you know now. Asking noob questions has a 99% flame chance. Flame = people shouting to increase their post count.
Using the search button is pretty easy. Just select the forum regarding your civic model and type in part of your question. DOHC vs SOHC will yield PLENTY of topics already covered.
As for my opinion, it all depends on your funds really. The d16z6 [not d16dz =P] is actually a really fun single cam motor. It pulls hard for what it is stock. As for being built all motor, you have a better chance building a DOHC motor, most preferred a b18c GSR motor.
USUALLY to make the d16 a beast you build it for low compression and turbo it.
To make a DOHC motor go fast, you can usually just put some bolt ons and enjoy x].
Like I said the information on this forum is very vast. Use the search to find what you're looking for.
