Does this sound like a good deal for a 1995 del sol
Not sure if im posting this in the right section. I searched and couldnt find where to post this.
The car is a 1995 Del-sol Si. Guy at work wants to sell it.
Do you guys think it is worth $1200?
Does it have the b16a3 in it?
Car has 200,000 on it and he is the second owner.
Car had a tune up on it before he bought it.
It has the normal rust by the rear wheel.
He says it is the teal color. Not sure what the actual name of the color is.

I don't think i'd want to pay any more than $1200 for it, but it's probably worth that. It definately needs a paint job, and major body work. Interior looks pretty decent though.
Side note, Del Sol Si's came with the D16Z6 or D16Y8 depending on the year. The Del Sol VTEC came with the B16A3 or B16A2 depending on the year.

Check on what it would cost to get that rust fixed. Does anyone make a patch panel? Will a coupe patch panel fit?
1200 doesn't seem too bad for that, the interior is nicer than a lot I've seen. The engine bay looks clean too. Almost all 92-95 Civics are rusted. Of course, if you can talk him down a little, go for it.

I think $1200 is a fair price for it, it looks decent other than the rust and knowing the guy selling it is usually a plus.

That rust is real nasty. What are your plans for it? Honestly, for $1200 that's great for a good running car. 200k is kind of high but if it's been taken care of I'm sure it'll be fine. You could always pick it up, daily it for a while, clean it up, and resell if you wanted. I'd grab it if it was me.

its worth it. unless you live in cali or texas or florida rust happens. specially with a honda paintfallout. its unavoidable.
needs that rust fixed, paint, and your rear bumper fixed. those two screws in the side are holding it up. check out pendemn del sol post on how to fix that easily if you get it.
you kids saying its not worth it go to kelly blue book. the price benchmarker of the world. bet you the difference it's worth more then what he's asking.
to the op. i just bought a cali del sol si for 1800. its got 186k, no rust, same color.
but i also bought my first delly from here looking exactly like yours but part of my bumper was still hanging by a rusty thread for 1750. with 197k and an S. i paid less then KBB for both but closer on my first buy...i wanted it.
so is 1200 worth it? if the engine runs well hell yea. it'll cost you maybe 3k and you can have a brand new del sol with a little rust.

$1200 seems a little high, im sure the market in the UK is very different, but that rust looks pretty nasty and it may have gotten to the sills, Its a definate MOT failure here. High milage too. Try to for $950/$1000. And get some quotes for a rust repair and a full respray

im not sure who makes panels for that other than honda. the quarters and rockers will have to be replaced on that sol. i dont know if id say its worth it. id pay 800 for it. i see delsol's in that condition here in ny all the time for between 400-800 dollers depending on interior and engine. my buddy bought the last 3 del sols i found for under 1200 total. it is cleaner than most on the inside, but that rust isnt easy to fix and panels all together will most likely cost you around 1200 bucks for qtrs and rockers.

The rust dont bother me at all. I can fix all of it for next to nothing. I dont see any reason for buying a whole quarter panel. I can make replacement panels for it. It will only cost me the price of the metal. I have a friend that has a metel roller and a brake. The paint job will only cost me the price of the paint and supplys. I have 2 spray guns (one is a primer gun and the other is a paint gun) They arent any cheap piece of **** guns. I paid $500 for the set. I will be checking it out more this week.
Thanks for all the replys.

Did you ever kbb it? I think it is worth it. Alot of others on here think it is also. I guess it all depends on how much you like the car.
