The D14A3 and D14A4 engines are identical, the difference is only one small gasket under the throttle body in D14A3 which restricts the air intake of the engine, this happen in some European countries.

look ***, you don't think i wiki'd it? I understand where your coming from, but I'm not looking just for the specs alone, I used to own a d16y7 snd the modifications were scarce. it was a weak vehicle. i'm just wondering if '95's d15 has more potential than the younger 97 d16y7. As far as mods go.

d15's have a better crank as it has 2 oil ports for the rods as the Y series motors are known for spinning rod bearings only having 1 hole to oil the rods on the crank. other then that the d15 is junk it will not out perform a d16 as its got less displacement and the same compression ratio. but this thread is pointless there is plenty of info on the net about both motors.

no they don't. d15's have the same single oiling ports as the y series. d16a6's and z6's had the two oiling ports. i know from tearing apart a d15b1 and a d15b7, as well as rebuilding my a6 and tearing apart a z6
