I'm sure I can help since I've got a 1995 EX coupe sitting at my shop right now that is owned by an employee with no license.

Well, I'd just like to have a close up picture of the plug so I can see the wires.

I can't seem to find any here on honda-tech.

If you have the chance to take a pic, I would really appreciate it.

I'm trying to figure out the difference between the 92-95 vtec distributor plug and the 96-00 HX distributor plug, despite the OBD differences. I believe Honda continued to use this distributor on the 96-00 HX's, but switched to a TEC distributor on the other 96-00 Civic models (DX, LX, CX)

I'll make a post explaining it all when I figure it out for sure. I'm almost positive on this though...

The OBD2 distributor will have one plug, while the 1992-1995 Civics had two plugs.

Here's a pic of an OBD2 B18C5 distributor plug - notice the blue and black/yellow wires at the bottom? Those two wires simply need to be repinned into the OBD1 engine harness's "extra" plug as shown here:



And the extra plugfound on the OBD1 distributor:



Now this is of course only if the HX dizzy is the same as the B18C5 dizzy in terms of the plug itself.

Also I'll try to get my diggy camera with cable on my lunch break so I can snap a goos close-up shot like those above on the D16Z6 distributor plug.

That'll probably be around 2:00ET before I get those on the PC though, and I hope I have some charged up batteries or else it'll be tomorrow.

It doesn't seem to be. That's where I'm trying to go with this.

This is what I've uncovered so far:

96-00 Civic DX/LX/CX distributor = OBD2 B16/B18 distributor

96-00 SOHC HX distributor = ?? 92-95 d15 or d16 distributor ??

And by looking up the distributors themselves through majestic, the HX is a Hitachi distributor with an 8 wire plug. The 96-00 DX/LX/CX is a TEC distributor with a 9 wire plug.
