I finally got the hood put on my Del Sol, and I discovered to my dismay that it doesn't fit. After I got to looking closely, it looks like the entire front has been bent nearly an inch over. I anticipated I would run into this type of thing, since the car had been wrecked. I bought two body repair manuals off ebay, 1992 and 1993. I figured the 93 manual would cover a Del Sol, but nooooo....

These are books that are put out by Honda and have all the body dimensions in them. If anyone has one, could you please let me know. If not, I need to find a way to get all the measurements off the front end to try and see if I can line this back up myself. I'm not above going out and buying a frame machine to get this car fixed.

Pahleeeze..... I need this info to get this car fixed.

How dosent the hood fit? cause you can make adjustments on the fenders, and the hood to make it all work.

The hood latch thing hits the core support about 3/4" to 1" and about 1/2" off of where the hole for the latch mechanism sits. This needs more than just bolt up adjustment. I took a known good fender bracket and held it up, and the bottom bolt hole was bout 1/2" out of line, and the metal was visibly bent.

So can you just bend the new one like the old one, or bend that over as well?

Further more, I belive those latchs for the hoods are also adjustable as well if I remember correctly.

I got a straight edge and put up against the side rails. It looks like starting at the end of the bottom support, it bends toward the passenger's side about 1/2" inch by the end of the side support. I also just discovered that something between the engine and the axles failed, b/c it isn't moving and it isn't clicking, so I may have to pull the engine and just use a porta-power on it.
