Default del sol body question

So this was sorta covered in another thread but not in the way I was looking for. The thread was asking if a aftermarket del sol hood will fit on a civic, now I have a 93 Del Sol S that needs a new hood and I'm wondering if there are any other civics hood or some other cars hood that will fit my del sol, and sorry if I'm not in the right spot to ask this. Just politely let me know if I did and I'll try to find where to repost this. And sorry but no I forgot to check the FAQ section for this purpose either

They aren't even remotely similar.

Yeah I was thinking that. Though that would lead me to a fallow up question, is there any Hondas that are close to the same bumper, hood and fender size? I'd assume that any other cars parts are gonna need some modifications to fit

And who is Ross? I don't see that name. Or my phone is cutting off some of what I see

No. You have a wide year range to use. Stick to it. Super simple stuff. My signature is an inside thing that you had to be there for.

Oh okay it's in your signature, well I'm planning to get the stock parts but do to a mid 90's civic hatch running around my neighborhood with Cadillac tail lights that I'm intrigued by I want to do something similar. Though not of a American car look

Yeah I saw it already, usually mine is "not the brightest crayon in the box but I'm rubbing against yellow to brighten up" but lately I don't feel like putting up my signature on anything

Hang around for awhile to get to know the forum regulars better. They're a knowledgeable and helpful crew. Your initial impressions may evolve over time as you understand them. I speak from experience.

Yeah I don't plan on going anywhere. Like I said I was on this forum starting around a decade ago for my 80's CRX and I know that most of the people here are knowledgeable about Hondas being why I came back when I got my del sol

I was going to mention that those are arguably the only conversions that come out decent to good looking but looks are subjective anyway. What ever you choose to do keep in mind you're pretty much guaranteed to require a fair amount of fabrication work.

Okay I just looked up the conversion and really like it and just might do that, what kinda fabrication work would I be looking at

"If you have to ask..."

We've been over this - We do expect you to put in at least a modicum of search effort. Long story short, you have to cut and weld core supports, chop up fenders and possibly the hood, frankenweld them together, and hope you made it all line up right without permanently damaging it all.

Okay thanks, I had assumed that I would have to chop up the hood. Though I have to think about it now because that's more involved than I was wanting to do, but it is me so who knows. I guess it's a good thing my neighbor just got a welder that he said I can use, if I do decide to do it. And please don't take that the wrong way, I didn't mean it as I'm giving up on that. It's probably just gonna be a bit before I do it , after I dig up more info on it

Dang I'll have to chop up a core support that will be new to me, I've only taken out a core support so far. Good thing my best friend knows about them, the fenders would be easy however but it doesn't talk about the hood. I'm wondering if I would have to cut it horizontally or vertically, my guess would be vertical. That would be another new one for me. Thank you very much eghatch

hood is untouched. core support is removed and replaced with a 92-95 one, again otherwise untouched. the chassis are very similar (front end wise)

Okay cool thanks, I'll check into doing it without doing the core support but I think I might have to do it. But I'm gonna see what I can do with Bondo

Okay then hopefully my portable air tank will hold enough air to cut one off from a junkyard

Just drill out the spot welds, wasting time trying to cut up the frame just to get a core support.

Cordless drill with 18v battery packs.
spot weld drill bit.
Go at it.

The drill bit only takes seconds to get past a spot weld and you move on th the next. No need to lug around a big air tank.
