yea you are supposed to. first you have to beat off the old welds. pain in the *** i didnt weld mine on though. it had about 4 bolts that went into the chassis so i just bolted it on and left it. easy change if i ever do it again i guess

you also need a tool called a tram gauge,body shops use it to make sure the parts being welded are exactly wher they should be,if they are in the right spot your parts aint gonna line up and it will be all fucked up

ok...we took off all the bolts that could be seen but unfortunately we cant get it off...anyone have any tips?
