Do I need to remove dash to remove evaporator or exp. valve
Hey what up guys,
Let me tell you a story,
I got a 93 hatch with an LS in it. Ive got everything to get my ac to work. I replaced the reciever/drier and pulled deep vacuum on the system for about thirty-fourty mins. After that I recharged the system and checked the gauge readings. I dont remember the numbers off the top but what I do know is that the high side is too high. It often time trips the pressure switch and the compressor will then turn off and back on repeatedly. To me this sounds like a blockage in the line. To fix this what should I do.
1) I guess I should try to clean out my condensor. Is my condensor flushable? how do I go about flushing it.
2) I guess if that doesnt work should I go ahead and try replacing my evaporater and exp. valve? Does the dash need to come out for this?
3) What do you guys suggest that I should do.

yeah a flush may do some good. you've just gotta go get the bottle of A/C flush and follow the directions. i don't know how much you'll be able to do with one bottle if you're planning on flushing everything...
but, this issue can also be caused by other things like too much "freon" in the system. i would dig a little deeper before pulling everything apart again.
no, the dash doesn't have to come out (that would be terrible!). you just have to take the glove box off, a metal bar that is behind the glove box (two or four small bolts), then the handful of bolts holding the evap box in. obviously you'll need to have the system pulled down, and the two lines that go through the firewall disconnected.
i think also there is one, maybe two wires to unhook from the box.
