Default Dizzy spinning freely?

so i took my dizzy out and i noticed that the thing that spins completely keeps spinning around and doesnt stop? i thought that they lock at 180 degrees if you turn it? is this a problem shude it be spinning like that or locking..its a z6 dizzy lemme kno thanks

Lol, no that is completely normal if the dizzy is off the car.


Now if the dizzy spins freely while it's ON the car, you have problems.

I hope it spins free otherwise you would have a hell of a problem.
is there a concern that made you take the dizzy off.

well my old dizzy seemed to stop like 180 degrees it would spin then it would stop but this dizzy can spin forever? i took it off because my car isnt workin no spark or fuel and i was thinkin that its my dizzy thats the problem?

A good dizzy shouuld be able to rotate 360* with out any effort if your old one doesn't spin free use the inside parts and put them into the dizzy case that spins
free. just make sure when you put the piece that goes back in the cam on that its 180* off on the dizzy shaft before you put the retaining pin in.

also i swapped the dizzy cap from the y7 on the z6 dizzy cuz it was in better condition, that isnt going to affect how the spark plugs go in are they? same cap right?

yeah.. if u have no fuel.. check ur fuel pump and see if its comming on at all when u key it up.... a

i kno what hes talking about.. and no my fuel pump isnt primein at all.. i dont think im gettin spark either so im convinced its the dizzy or the main relay but id unno how to check the main relay? its under the dash right, how do i kno if its workin right

the main relay is under the dash, and check your coil, or ignitor, in your dizzy
