DIY proportioning valve disassembly
1996 civic lxi, no abs, rear drum brakes.
So after changing my proportioning valve, I decided to rip it apart to see what's inside. For those of you who are curious as well, I've taken some pictures that might be of use later on.

Pry the metal caps with a screw driver. They are fitted snugly, no threads or glue.
Piston will be seen with the snap ring holding it in place.
Once the parts are out, cleaning is easy. You may have to hit the valve with something solid to make the piston come out. The O-ring on the piston is making it fit tightly on the cylinder.
