heres what it looks like when u cut it out urself.
the paint doesnt seem to want to stick to the mesh ****, so i just bought the real thing from global premier. u can tell a big diff in quality IMO.
real thing.
speaking from personal experience, if i had to do it again i would of just bought it in the first place caz u dont have to worry bout the paint chippin off gutter gaurd and it just looks alot better. good luck

heres mine i made...i cut out the interior of the grill with a dremel and then bought some durable strength mesh frome ace hardware for about 15 buks and sprayed it black with a clearcoat. .then just stuck the civic logo on with double stick tape

as long as you prime the DIY grille good and hit it w/ a few coats of good paint it wont chip. i have had mine on for 6 months through the whole winter and have no chipping. IMO it was a good $2.50 spent

Another vouch for the damn gutter guard.
note that i didnt paint it. However, I have a sedan, and that outer ring thing on mine is chromed metal, not plastic. What I did was cut up an old extension cord into thin strips, then coated the rubber with some spray adhesive, like a glue. i put it on the chrome part, (no mess, i was careful) and that held there long enough for me to screw the backing of it back on.
