yeah, saw this a while back and thought of having my mechanic weld me one like this but with aluminum, and using a professional cremaic paint on the inside and outside, so its just as lightweight as the aem one and has the performance of the diy one, what do you think?

can you even weld aluminum, i think you can...

I think you braze aluminum, not weld it.

Good writeup, I was thinking this would be another "look at the intake i made with cardboard, duct tape, and a beer keg."

There was a thread a few months ago where a dude made an intake from a Heinekin mini-keg. He affixed it to his car with duct tape. He used cardboard to divert the flow of air into the keg can.

Then he had the ***** to post it up on HT and tell ppl he shaved a second off his quarter mile time.

This writeup is definitely a step up from that one.

Aluminum can be welded, brazed or soldered.

Never said it wasn't a good write-up. Matter of fact it's one of the better ones I've seen. Just that it wasn't anything new.
