Distributor question on LS-VTEC swap
I have tried the search engine on H-T and have not found an answer. My friend is doing an LS-VTEC swap in his 98 Honda Civic and is wondering if he can use his old D series distributor. I didn't think he could but I wanted some else's opinion on the matter because I have always just used the distributor that came with the swap. Thanks.

Re: Distributor question on LS-VTEC swap
Usually you use the distributor that matches your head. For example, I just put in a D15B VTEC into my car...the japanese distributor wasn't producing spark, so I needed to replace it. I know the D15B VTEC is a 92-95 VX block, with a 92-95 Si head. So I bought a distributor for the Si.
I'm not sure if you can use the D-series distributor for an LS-VTEC. I would think no, you can't. If he is using a B16 head on the LS block, then get the B16 distributor.
