Distributor help-Z6 into 96 dx hatch
I have a 96 dx hatch that I am in the middle of swapping a 95 z6 swap with ecu into. I am using the z6 distributor and am stuck trying to wire it up. My 96 dx harness distributor plug has different colors from the z6 distributor. The colors on the harness are:
Black, Blk/Yel, Blue, Orange (maybe tan?), Green, Dark blue, Wht/Grn, White, and Red
the distributor colors are:
Blk/Yel, Blue, Orange, Org/Blu, White, Wht/Blu, Blu/Yel, Blu/Grn, and Yel/Grn
I found a couple of charts that were supposed to tell me how to do this but many of the wire colors are wrong. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Hmm...that's kind of odd. The info I gave you in your other thread came right out of the Helms ETM manuals for a 95 Civic and the 96-00 Civic.
Those are for the 96-98 Civic. I don't have the 95 Civic scans with me here at work though...
However, you should now start considering getting a multimeter. The 3 sensors inside of the distributor spec out to about 350 ohms. The Blk/Yel wire is consistently the +12v to the coil and ignitor. The thick Blu wire has always been the tach and the Yel/Grn wire has always been the ICM trigger. So you can eliminate those wires and use the meter, along with all of this information, to find out just which wires should be paired together.

Re: (EE_Chris)
Those images are way too small to read. Everytime I try to blow them up it just gets all blurry. Can you resize them and repost or somethin? Thanks for the help guys lets keep the help coming this is the only thing keeping my car from starting!!! I will paypal anyone 10 bucks that can hook up the answer.
p.s. anyone out there that has a dx EK that is willing to go look at the distributor and tell me which wires go to which? Its lame, the wiring on the distributor between the y7 and z6 distributors are the same, just the EK harness plug has to have different colors for some lame reason

If you have a 19" monitor @ 1024x768, it covers the screen and then some. I don't know what to tell you...save them to your hardrive and open them in MSPaint or something similar.
Or you could buy a Helms...and a meter...

Nah - not at all bud. I hope you get **** sorted out. It sucks that the factory service manual doesn't seem to match up to the wiring in your car though....don't know what to say about that.
