Default distributor help

I have a 99 civic ex 2 door with a jdm b16 obd1 engine. I converted the engine to obd2 so I could use my ex wiring harness. Now I need to replace the distributor and have a new obd2 distributor for a 99 civic si. My problem is that I need to know how to switch the plugs to accept the ex wiring harness. The ex has a white inside with 3 I looking prongs while the si harness is blue inside with a different layout. I was told that I could put the ex wires in the new distributor. The new distributor has 9 wires and the old one has 8. can I cut the wires and if so which one goes where, or should I take the distributor apart and replace the whole wiring harness inside. How would I go about this. Please help

Yes it is a p30 jdm ecu. I also have a stock p2t ecu out of a 99 civic si in my garage. The new distributor came from distributor king so the wire colors are a little different.

well I shipped my 2 distributors to mahdavi motorsports in atlanta georgia and they changed the plugs for me. My engine wiring harness was the stock one out of my ex, I could use it since it was already vtec. If you have any questions about electrical they would probably help you out more than me, their phone # is 1-770-923-1550. They are very reasonable and knowledgable. Their website is mahdavimotorsports.com. OH my motor WAS obd1 we converted it to obd2 by changing the oil pump, distributor, crank position sensor, and knock sensor. Mahdavi did my swap, and it has ran great for over a year and a half.

your best bet would be to find either a 99-00 civic si, or integra wiring harness for your engine. A new one is between 450-600. BELIEVE ME they are worth the money. all you would have to do is plug in your wires to the engine, plug into your main fuse box under the hood. and go. When you start splicing and cutting you can run into serious problems. My buddies 95 hatch caught fire and burned by a wire sparking under the hood where they had spliced and soldered so much under the hood. You can also check ebay, I've seen them go for 150-200 before.
