Distributor Dilemma
Yeah, I'm that guy!!! The one putting an OBD1 B18C in an OBD2 Car. Let me try to explain where I'm at and then ask my question.
Complete swap from a JDM 1994 Integra SiR (B18c)...... OBD1
My car--- 2000 Civic Ex with a blown motor (D16y8)......OBD2
Since it's a JDM motor, I'm using the 2000 Ex wire harness with an OBD2 P72 computer. Everything is bolted up and ready to go. I've cut and spliced every sensor and component necessary except.... the distributor!!! OBD1 distributor has two plugs on the distributor and OBD2 has one. In 1999 and 2000 honda changed the distributor plug again to a smaller plug. (the one on my EX harness)
could I use a distributor from a 99-00 si (B16) will that plug right in to my EX harness. If so... does anybody have one for sale? Or any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any pics? Im not sure what 3 sensors you're talking about. I just know there are two plugs on the OBD1 B series and one plug on the D16 distributor. so you're saying I can simply swap the internals of the two distributors and be left with the B series housing with the original D series plug and internals?

Exactly. you can keep the newer OBD2 coil and ignighter though. Sorry i don't have pics but as soon as you take both distributors apart you'll see what i mean.

Re: Distributor Dilemma (94EG8)
Holy crap! it worked. I cant believe it was that easy. Thanks a lot. But I learned today that I have the wrong computer so it still wont run. The computer I bought is a P72 but its OBD2 A. 99 and 00 is OBD2 B.
What do you think I should do from here? Should I get an OBD1 computer and use a jumper harness to convert to OBD2 B? Or....
Should I get a computer from a 99+ GS-R/Type-R or 99-00 Civic Si?

Re: Distributor Dilemma (vtecfan)
If you have any sort of emisions testing where they hook up to the ECU get a '99 - '01 USDM GS-R ECU, don't use a JDM ECU, they wont communicate with a scan tool and you will not pass emissions. If going this route you will need to perform the CFK fix http://technet.ff-squad.com/ckftrick.htm If emissions testing isn't a concern use a jumper harness and an OBD1 ECU, you wont need to perform the CFK trick if doing this, you can use either a stock P72 or a chipped P28 or P30 if using an OBD1 ECU.

Re: Distributor Dilemma (94EG8)
I would much rather go with a chipped P28. Do you or anyone you know have one for sale? I know the P28 was available in a lot of different hondas so does it matter what kind of car the computer comes out of if I wanna run my B18 properly? I also need a new driver-side cv axle. Both parts, the half shaft and drive axle if you can help me out with that too it'd be greatly appreciated. Just figured I'd throw that one out there. Ha ha. I trust you. You've been a huge help so far so thanks again.

Re: Distributor Dilemma (vtecfan)
P28 was available in '92 - '95 civic EX/Si. As long as its a manual P28 though they're all the same. Axles should be from a '94 - 01 integra (any model, they're all the same), '94 - '97 Del Sol Vtec, or a '99 - '00 Si. All are the same, just get whatever is easier to find/cheaper ABS/Non ABS doesn't matter unless you have ABS. If you're looking for parts I suggest you post a want to buy ad in the H-T marketplace.
