Icon3 Distributor Cap Help

I have an EG6 with a B16a2 swap. Over the past weeks I have noticed a leak and I couldn't figure it out until today. It's coming from the bottom of my distributor cap. I dont know what this means. Does this mean that I may need to replace it? Please help. thanks!

Its not your distributor cap leaking. I would look over your cam seals real good, I would bet thats where the leak is coming from. Its a pretty common issue.

I have scheduled a tunning and an overall inspection of the engine up in Tacoma on the first weekend of March. Is this issue something I need to take car of now or something that I can have the shop (Speedfactory) do for me when they look at my car?

Are you talking about oil coming from the cap itself? so if take off the cap it is wet?

Or are you talking about where the distributor housing meets the engine?

^^

This

If it has oil inside, then youll need a bew distrib. If its under the distrib, might just need the o-ring replaced

either way its not something to cause any huge concern untill you bring it in as long as its functioning properly. I would monitor it closely tho! gl

The oil leak is where the distributor housing meets the engine and it is at the bottom of the cap.

Easy to do, mark the distributor, remove it, there is a 2 dollar o ring pull it off and carefully replace it put back on.

There are write ups on here, search it.

You can let it go but it will start to get messy.

There is another O ring inside it, you don't have to replace the whole thing.

Pull the cap off and see if it's wet inside.
