Default In a Dilemma

First time on Honda Tech so please no flamming on how uneducated I am about cars.

First off im 17, have my license, i want to get a car the earliest possible. i have 2000$ dollars now but by Christmas I should get another 1000-1500$.

Leaving me with a total of 2500-3500 more or less.

The question is: I would most of the time have my girlfriend with me and either her friends or my friends. Is a coupe really cramped that 5 or 4 people would not fit? Should i buy myself a crappy sedan and then buy myself a coupe that i will use to modify? OR should i just modify a coupe?

Any sudgestions on what i should do? If i should wait till the summer where i would have alot more money or 3000$+- is good enough?

I was thinking about putting in a B16 and do I/E/H even a B20 my friend could get me one for very cheap. 1000$ for everything plus install.

Any sudgestions would be nice.
Thanks, DD.

Is a coupe big enough to fit 4-5 people?
si or prelude?

and you didnt answer my question on whether 3000$ is enough for everything. How much does a coupe go for? Lets say 95 coupe?

depending on condition the coupe will run you between $2000-5000.

if you want the coupe get the coupe. 4 people will fit fine. 5 makes it crowded.

if you lower the car though adding people in the back may make the ride harsh/bouncy.

thinking about getting a beater 4 door and a nicer coupe to play with? that is gonna cost you. who is paying insurance? figure a new driver, 2 cars, 2x gas, 2x insurance, 2x repairs. either get what you want now or get a beater and keep saving.

i had a coupe and could fit for people comfortably. If you want to have a b16 just save up and get an si and save yourself some headaches.

From my experience, when my friend first got his coupe(EJ8) we all went out to lunch during high school and when you have people all over 5'9 sitting in a civic, **** is no go. Same for Integras, Preludes are a bit better. But, when I got my 4dr 98' Civic I fitted up to 6 people and **** went well. Just don't lower it using Skunk2 coilovers and stock shocks. xD I would tell everyone that I'm unfamiliar with, that I am not responsible for neck and parietal bone injuries.....

If a coupe is what you like then go for it. If the people in the back want to complain, tell 'em get their own fukin car. I never had problems with ladies in the back of mine. Plenty of room. But when you throw bigger dudes in there it can get sorta uncomfortable. But hey, at least you don't have to ride back there.

i would recommend a coupe or personally i think the hatchbacks are better plenty of room i think the hatches almost feel like they got more head room in the back than coupes but as far as a getting a beater and a car to fix up like someone mentioned your gonna need a lot more money good luck either way
