differences betwen a 13/16 and a 15/16 MC??
im upgrading my brakes so i wanted to change the MC. im going with the 91 ex MC. well i went to autozone and i asked for the 91 ex MC. their system dont give them the option on models i guess.. just engine size ( 1.6 ) and sedan or wagon ( sedan ).
they had a "rebuild one" in stock so i asked them if i can check it out.. as i open the box i see what it looks like a brand new MC. it doesnt have any numbers that lets me know if its a 13/16 or 15/16.. how can i tell what i what? help please.. here are some pics..

You shouldn't be able to tell the difference this way as the housing is the same. Its the internal bore that makes it larger. The only TRUE way would be to measure the internal bore with the one pictured. They are normally stamped on the outside of the housing.

13/16 is the same as stock size - lx,dx,cx
The ex/si is larger at 7/8
I dont know what you currently have (if it said, I didnt read it) but youre not upgrading, if you end up with a 13/16... in fact, you could be downgrading, if you have an ex/si

Last time I replaced mine, Autozone couldn't get it for me. They tried to give me a 13/16. Then they tried to give me an Integra MC but it didn't fit my brake booster. Go to Kragen, or one of the better auto parts suppliers.

i just went through the same process you did at autozone in the last few days - i wanted a 91 ex MC but they cost alot more like $90+ and were special order, so i just got a 91 crx SI MC they had in stock and was only $47 - i put it on and it works mint, i got 89 dx hb w/ 91 crx si rear disk setup , integra 40/40 prop valve, new brembo crossdrilled rotors up front, new oem rotors in rear, new carbon metalic pads all the way around, and now the car stops on a dime

Re: differences betwen a 13/16 and a 15/16 MC?? (superhatchbackbros)
so i spent like 2 hours browsin different part number same brand at autozone website.
now i compated 91 sedan/hatchback 1.6 ( wich is what i have ) with 91 sedan/hatchback 1.5 and part # are different.. alos compared with 91 crx and the part number is the same as the 1.5 ( so still different )
i also decided to compared it with a 95 delsol si and the part # is the same as the 91 crx/sedan/hatchback....
so pretty much what the part i have is only given to 91 sedan/hatchback 1.6
weird..

Yes, i know you said you were upgrading to the 91 ex mc, yes it does have a 15/16 mc
Your current mc, you didnt mention.
My point was simply, be 100% sure of what you have, because it could be the exact same thing...but newer
thats all

the one i bought several months ago from autozone also has the #184 stamped on the side. I bought it because in autozone computer it said it was a 15/16 core

Re: (ALLMOTOR CRX)
You should be able to tell the difference by the size of the reservior. The 15/16 is way bigger. Here are some pics from my swap, I hope they help...
Before:
The difference in the size of the caps:
Make sure you bench bleed by the way:
Installed before
After = BAM!
You can see in the last pic that mine says 15/16 on the side. But yeah, the 15/16 is noticably larger than the stocker.
hope this helps

Re: differences betwen a 13/16 and a 15/16 MC?? (JCracer723)
hope this helps. i bought my mc at autozone too, part #532428, cost $94.99. Was special order btw. This part # was for a 91 civic ex (sedan pretty sure). In autozone computer system it said it was 15/16. Compared to my mc and the picture u have they are identical, both with #184 stamped on the side. Mine bolts up to my 94 civic hb brakebooster perefectly and without any modifications done to brake lines. oh yeah dont forget to get a 40/40 prop valve too
