Re: Differences between JDM/USDM heads? (hybridreams)
JDM B16 came in 2 versions, generation 1 and generation 2. Gen. 1 utilized OBD-0 and was available from 89-91, Gen.2 was 92-95. Anyway, USDM heads off the B16's are identical to Gen.1 USDM heads, both engines were rated at 160hp. JDM Gen. 2 engines were rated at about 170hp, due to bumped up compression, 10.4 from 10.2, from higher-domed pistons and upgraded camshafts. Refer to http://g-speed.com/pbh/b16a/index.html for some differences in specs.
Also, some differnces noted on the Hybrid Honda site: "If you open the oil cap, you should be able to see the oil spray bars. The first generation has cast aluminium oil spray bars while the later generation ones are made of extruded aluminium."
