Default Differences between a 95 Del Sol and a 97 Del Sol?

I'm trying to decide between the two, I don't really understand the changes between the 95 and 97. Could somebody translate them into layman's terms, and recommend which one is better?

I'm going to have a mechanic check out the vehicle regardless. But the miles are similar on both.

I don't understand what the engine differences are, for example.

I thought my question was primarily technical. The differences in the engines is mainly what I'm looking for here.

I apologize if I'm in the wrong section.

I'm not asking for anything in regards to the value of either vehicle.

Depends on the trim. Of course, in the world of Honda, you never know what the previous owner did to the car so you can't always be sure what engine it has without looking under the hood. A good rule of thumb, stay away from the DX (base model) if you want performance.

Depends what model your looking at. For engines the si in 95 had a d16z6, 97 had d16y8. then the vtec model for 95 had the b16a3, 97 had b16a2.

Really just minor HP differences. The Z6 (95) and Y8 (97) are very similar engines HP wise. Same goes with the B7 and Y7. Also with the A3 and A2. The 95 is OBD1 it reference to the ECU/on board diagnostics and in a lot of states is cheaper to inspect. The ECU's for these years are very easy to modify. For the 96up Del Sol it is OBD2 and ECU wise is not very easy to modify.
