did swap need help!!!!!
i have a 93 coupe and i put a 96 ls into it but i tryed to start it but it didnt kick over and the engine was backfireing and there was some smoke coming from the throttle body i need some advice please reply thanx!!!!

sorry about the short info it is a 96 ls teg full swap with a stock p75 ecu i was told since my car was obd1 that the 96 ls could not work but i got a obd1 computer and the engine seems like it wants to kick over but it doesnt i have ordered a throttle cable cause the civic one would not fit but i tryed to start it with out the cable by holding the throllte open by hand and it would not kick over any suggestions

did the motor run before you put it in? like do u know that it is a good motor or did u jusy buy a motor and drop it in thinking it was good. you can not rule that out if you did not ever see the motor running before..

My first suggestion would be to take your time writing your posts. Be very clear and detailed about EVERYTHING you used and did in during the swap. We can't be of much help if we just taking stabs in the dark.
