Re: Del sol turbo z6 build
That's how it was for a little while, then wanted to go k swap so I sold the swap and kit. Just to turn around and build a z6 that's where I'm at now current time. I'll get some pictures of the car how it's sits tomorrow.

Hey the sol looks like it's come a long way already. Will follow
Just so I understand, you bought the car stock less than a year ago, already boosted the D series and did all those other upgrades, and now will be building the engine and upgrading the turbo setup?
Why not go B series while you're at it?

Re: Del sol turbo z6 build
Looks like a nice build list. How much power do you hope to make and with what fuel? That looks like a badass cam...
Only things I would do different is run 10.5 or 11:1 compression, and use oem bearings.
I agree with you on the Z6, I also love the SOHC for a quick daily or street car. Going DOHC just makes more sense dollar per hp, which is more important to most people.

Re: Del sol turbo z6 build
Ive read about the 3.6 cam. Due to the lift and duration, p2v clearance are tight, and usually you gotta machine the valves.
Not sure if that's more an issue on dohc tho.

Re: Del sol turbo z6 build
1000's will be good for maybe 400whp with an efficient setup on e85. If you want room to grow, go bigger. Plan on at least a Walbro 255 pump and upgraded lines to handle the e85. Hondata S300 for management.

I have a 255 already from when I did the first turbo kit. going with the 2.4 lol

Re: Del sol turbo z6 build
The bisimoto 3.6 is such an aggressive cam that the head itself may require clearancing for the large lobes to clear, as well as special care to p2v and v2v clearances. Further more 9.5:1 compression is fairly low for a cam that big especially when running ethanol. Also you would need extensive porting to take advantage of that cam's specs and would want to go +76mm with oversize valves (but oversize valves may make contact with each other, so valves might need to stay stock). The 3.6 is going to be very inefficient until very high revs, basically the 2.4 will spool the turbo sooner and produce more power and torque everywhere until over almost 9000 rpms, but this is where your cast manifold/relatively small turbo/average skunk intake etc will start to run out of breath and your poor choice of bearings will more than likely fail. Do some more research. Bearings need to be precisely spec'd and mic'd for a d series to stay together at these rpms and power levels and this is why oem bearings were recommended, as they are color coded for specific sizing.....

Re: Del sol turbo z6 build
Ive done a fair bit of Research on the bearings, Do you have anything negative to say about the king race bearings? And by the way this is not the 1st motor ive built.I'm just not gonna spend $800 on a golden Eagle manifold And the skunk 2 with proper porting will flow well.

Good comparison on cams, though out dated. Are you sure that you can still purchase Bisimoto parts? Have you looked into Rocket motorsports?

Re: Del sol turbo z6 build
I just check his website as far as i can tell you can. Ive looked at the old cam shootout a while back good info in it for sure. I haven't ill take a look. The reason im running a log manifold it to keep ac.
