Del Sol Trunk Stay help?
I bought replacements, and can see how they go on, but I can't see how the OEM ones come off!?
Helms and Chiltons both say I have a different type than I do. I have the ones listed at Majestic:

So, can I pop the stay's socket off the ball, or is this one piece and I have to buy OEM for 2x the price?
Thanks!

In general, you must pry a lock loose that retains the end of the support onto a ball-stud. You can probably see them on the replacements - a silver band, right? There is an equivalent on the oe supports, but it may look different. They are usually designed to be released with a small flat blade screwdriver - it's hard to say without a detail picture of yours!
There are several designs for the retainers, many of them are interchangeable.

Well, I looked for those, and they seem to be factory pressed in or something.
I can take a pic tomorrow.
Worse comes to worse, i can spend a couple hours with a dremil tool and cutting wheels to "loosen" them from the OEMs lol
BUT!!! I'd Rather do it the right way!!
