Did you happen to rub against a curb with your old rims???
Frig I did that a few weeks ago...#$^% I was angry! It out a thin scrape mark around the very edge of the lip...not TOO noticeable, but a ****-off none the less!

Devin:
Yeah, got caught by several curbs at bank drive-throughs and when parking on campus. I was going to have the rims fixed and repainted, but decided to go with the Rotas instead. The OZ's were expensive in their day too.. They're just sitting in my attic at the moment.
The problem is in the width of the wheel vs the width of the tire.....a 205 just isn't enough meat to protect the edge of the rim. I actually managed to curb the Rotas recently too (80 mph dodge of a box that fell off a truck on the highway), but they're narrower (7 vs 7.5 inches) so no scrapes, just a little scuff on the tire that came out with the next wash.
I'd definitely advise against a 7.5 width rim......unless you are REALLY careful!!
