I got a 97' Del Sol Si. I haven't gotten to top it out yet can't find a semi decent rode to do it on. But I race the thing in little strips of road and back in housing developments(mark out a track). So I was wonderin what someones top speed was with another Del Sol Si(not Vtech, gunna do an engine swap pretty soon)

Don't race on side streets, the best possible outcome from this behavior is you'll kill someone. The worst is that you'll kill someone AND yourself. On sidestreets nobody expects to see another person doing 100mph, and your visability is going to be so low that you'll never see the other person in time to avoid the accident. It's just not worth it.

Go rent some time at a track. It's not like they're expensive. And if your old car has an old part break, at least there'll be runoffs and tire walls and open spaces to save you from killing yourself and others.

My '97 VTEC has been a daily driver for me for 10 years - there's enough wrong with it that I know about to also make me damn well sure there's got to be at least a half dozen or more things that are also wrong that I don't know about... all it takes is for the wrong old part to fail at those speeds, with very little time & space to react, for very very bad things to happen.

I'd have to strip my car down to the frame, seam-weld it all, then put it all back together with my own two hands before I'd come close to trusting it to not start jettisoning parts at 130mph...

I thought the del sol Si's have D16Z6's in them?

Not to mention it's VTEC, not Vtech.

With that said, what's the fastest, stock?

Iono, 120, 122, 125, somewhere 'round there where the governor doesn't let it go any faster...
