it's not too hard to have a del sol runnin 14s....but if ur dedicated u can try and find a del sol VTEC, but those r hard enough to come by as it is...but making a del sol run 14s is about as challenging as trying to make another other civic run 14s

oh god yes, here we go again with the "whale theory"...Come on, if you want 100 pounds less, buy a hatch, if you don't give a ****, buy a slo, and have the pimp factor to make up for it

That's just part of it; they're 200 lbs. overweight. They have the worst body integrity of any Honda ever made. They received a "NOT RECOMMENDED" by Consumer Reports. They have serious cooling system deficiencies. The sunroof leaks like a sieve, and if you're foolish enough to try to autocross with one, the frame distorts and pops the back window out of its track, or even breaks it.

You sure you want to do this?

if u were even paying any attention at all, his intentions for the del sol was to drag race, not to go autocrossing in it...and if all he cares about is running 14s in his del sol i'm sure he's not going to care about a leaky roof or the body integrity of the car...this comment isn't for all hatchback drivers but in the past month of having my car [bone stock], i've been able to beat 2 '99 civic hatchbacks...one wit an EX motor wit mods and the other with mods....personally i wasn't expecting to win the race but for me to even beat them was pretty pitiful...so all it boils down to is that del sols do have potential

ok, now give me the specs for a swapped DX versus a swapped Slo S, it won't be too far off

now, if you want a shell to straight drag, get a hatch shell, swap it, call it a day, because its been done a thousand times, proven reliable.

On the other hand, if you want a street machine that looks good, has decent options, and can run 14s, get a Slo....

1. just drop a h22a in it and basic bolt ons and you will be in mid 13's easy

2. hey blackducecoupe do any of the hatchs you mentioned have a dohc motor in them no i dont think they do if your going to compare weight compair it to a comprable car like the del sol "S"
