Del Sol Build Opinions to help a n00b
Hello!
I bought my first project car, a 1993 Honda Del Sol Rolling Chassis. Im new at this whole thing and its something i have always wanted to do, Build a Del Sol right and prove everyone that thinks of Del Sols negatively, wrong
I bought a 1999 B20b w/ like 40,000 miles on it and I got a freshly rebuilt B16 LSD transmission to go with it. Everything on and in the motor is going to be stock except for the intake manifold, I am switching it to an LS manifold because the b20b manifold wont fit into the Del Sol. I am also going to be running Injector Dynamics 1000cc Injectors. Stock flywheel, arp flywheel and clutch bolts and an Exedy single stage clutch. Keeping a/c and p/s.
Nothing special, yet. This is just going to be the base of the build. I am going to do a complete build, vtec conversion, all motor set up but that requires a lot of money to do right. I dont want to take any shortcuts, so all that is to come. Im still in college so I am not able to just dump as much money as I want into it. I plan to keep this car, even if I move on to bigger and better things, I want to tuck it away in my garage for my little toy and as a trophy as my first build.
What do you guys think of this? And what can i do and use to better the build? I dont want to sacrifice efficiency for performance but i dont want to sacrifice performance for efficiency. Like i said, Im somewhat new to the scene. All ridicule, thoughts, comments and compliments will be taken as advice to better my knowledge on everything.
Thank you in advance!

I know i dont need them now but when i do a vtec conversion, start building my motor and seeing serious power number or even maybe feel like boosting it, im going to need new fuel injectors. So why not just get top of the line now and not have to replace them down the line? what do you think? What would be the pros and cons?

LOL! I have never really been a fan of boost and when it is finished, I am going to sell my 09 Sentra SpecV and this is going to be my daily driver, so I dont want to be on boost for that reason. I think that i could get my numbers to somewhere around 280hp-300hp without boost, fully build b20vtec? No?

Serious power numbers, without any form of FI? I still think you need to share whatever you're smoking. Some DSM 450s will give you better idle, better gas mileage, and will support your little CRVTEC. You are seriously overestimating what you're going to get out of that motor.

If you are able to throw down the money to build a 250whp all motor bseries, I highly doubt you should be concerned with the cost to upgrade injectors when you actually need too.

Well it would be the full build all at once. It would be a little here, a little there. But its not even the price of the injector that I am mainly worried about. Just one less thing to worry about. That why I asked, would there be any negative in just getting the ID1000cc now?
