dash lights, Abs, and power windows.
Hi guys. New to hondas. Just picked up a 93 Civic EX coupe 1.5.
Few issues.
The dash lights do not work. Neither do the heater control lights. I took the cluster out and replaced all 5 bulbs. No good. All fuses are fine.
The power windows do not work. All fuses are fine. (I think it may need a new switch.
I need a rear wheel bearing. I have rear drum brakes. Do I have ABS? I dont see and ABS pump under the hood anywhere. But my friend whos kinda knowlegedable said if my ex has rear drums I have ABS?
Thanks!

Re: dash lights, Abs, and power windows.
well for starters if its an ex model you should have a 1.6 sohc vtec motor not a 1.5 sohc non vtec so check under the hood and see if the valve cover says vtec.
if the fuses are good and the bulbs are fine i would try a different switch, maybe get one off ebay or a junkyard and if that doesnt fix it the electrical gremlins got you car and it will take more time and patience to find the source of the problem.
i dont think you have abs

Sounds like a big electrical problem. Check for voltage. The valve cover might not necessarily say vtec on it. Check engine code on the block to be sure.

A bad dimmer switch is probably the reason for no dash or climate control lights. Pry the dimmer out the dash, disconnect the dimmer switch connector, and then use a jumper wire to connect the red and black wires in the free connector. Turn the parking lights on. Do the dash lights now illuminate at full brightness?
For the power window problem, start by checking whether the door switch is bad.

K i took off my door panel. The 3 prong connector goes into my power door lock switch.
My passenger window does work. From the passenger side.
Maybe I just have a bad switch on the drivers side.
How would I jump the Connector to try to bypass it?
Looks like someone half assed an alarm or door popper on this things years ago. Some really weird homeade splices going on in there. And some "valet" black box under my dash.
There is a white whire with green stripe coming out of my "door lock control module" that is completely cut it half and spliced to something new. I tried to jump the wire back together but it still didnt help.
