Default D17 block with Y8 head?

Does anyone know if the older heads will fit the newer blocks. I drove my car into a huge water drainage problem the other night. 2 feet water + AEM cold air = Hydrolock. I found alot of d17 related stuff in search. just not specific to the D17A2 block being fitted with a D16Y8 head.

yeah I figured isn't intake and exhaust on totaly different sides of the engine. And wouldn't that result (even if the head fit) valves hitting against the piston valve reliefs? Just a though.

the y8 head will NOT fit. the 2 motors spin the same way but honda design the d17 toatally different than previous engines.

The fuel wouldn't have mattered, I'd be putting it in my 96 cx using the y8 head and fuel system if it would've worked.
