Default d16zc head same a d16z6?

are the valves the same? Never seen them but I need to order some new ones for my D16ZC SOHC VTEC(dealership guys looked at me weird)...just checking before I order ones for Z6 TY!

EDIT: I'm NOT talking about the:
1 SOHC non-vtec
2. DOHC non-vtec

it is the SOHC vtec JDM...too many different ZC's....

I wish I knew, I had a sohc ZC vtec and I couldn't find **** for it. I emailed skunk2 about it, and they said they had nothing for it. Hope you have better luck finding stuff for it than I did.

I'm sure it's the exact same as the z6. I use to have the same motor and when I took the head off the pistons read P28 same as z6. The head is also stamped P08 same as z6. So I would assume that it's the same thing. I used all z6 OE parts for my zcvtec and it all worked fine. Been a year now and it's boosted and still running strong.

Btw, the d15bvtec from what I read has a more aggressive camshaft then the z6's.

What about the y8 cam?? NEver heard tht about the 1.5vtecs being more aggressive.. Know the a y8 cam gives you and astounding 3.5 whp!!! yea... better than none i guess. Just make sure(if you run a y8) to change the cam gear because the size diff is obvious awa the # of teeth. Wouldnt know this if you didnt have a z6, and a y8 head(cams) setting next to each other. And the comp ratings are also higher for a y8 (maybe deck height) and they come w tha best oem intake mani.

Ran my old D15b7 for a year on the bottle. 50 wet shot. Never messed w timing, nothing but colder plugs. Until one day, got smart. Decided to put a y8 head, ZEX Stage 3 cam and some valve springs. That cam was so big on the little guy, I had to spend about hour and half, cutting new reliefs and claying the pistons several times! Talking about a diehard d-series racing fan. Not really, no money and having fun!!! Lol All that hard work lasted for one week. The following wkend, 128 on the interstate, reached back and turned the bottle on... Yep, lasted for about half a sec!!! 11 holes in the block, not a one rod left, and all the skirts broken off, I came to the conclusion, The cam was too big for spray.... Worth every min of it!!! Buddy behind sd he seen a huge flash come out of under my del sol and just seen flying pieces and smoke!!! What a great memory... RIP lil D Series... If youre gonna kill em, Do it right!!!

think about the cam thing...the d15b vtec is 1.5 and the d16z6 is 1.6.....even though the 1.5 is smaller it make about the same HP.....could be the comp intake not sure but from what I've read and the people I've talked to it is in the cam!

From what I read on H-T a while back. The d15bvtec cam is almost as aggressive as the Zex Stage 1. Probably why it's able to get that 130hp to the crank. I'm sure some other people can chime in on that.
