Default if i order a cluster with more mileage..how do i register my car?

okay
my car doesnt have a tach
its a 92 civic dx.
i want a tach really bad but i will NOT get a gay autozone fat indiglo seperate gage
i really just want to order the si cluster

but what happens when i haveto register or sell my car?cuz most clusters you buy have a lot of mileage and my car only has 88,xxx miles. how would i go about registering it and if i sold it so people would know it doesnet have high mileage.do you think there is a way to open up the plastic cover and roll back the numbers? and it will still work right?

i really want to order it now..i just dont know how it will work
any helpful advice is GREATLY appreciated
thanks!

You can take it directly to a Honda dealership and they will adjust it to the correct mileage for a fee.

Call your dealership to check on pricing.

Check with the DMV if it's even required.

Like in NY (and most other states) if a car's over X years old (in NY it's 10) the mileage doesn't matter when registering it.

I have no idea what my actual mileage is - 150k on the chassis, 70 on the motor, like 90 (I think) on the cluster, something to that effect. Though it doesn't matter b/c a 97 is 10 years old .

See if it's even required first, if you find out the actual mileage is required than you can take it to the Honda Dealership - although I've never actually seen (nor heard) of them actually doing this.

Something real simple you can do...

Remove your original speedometer/odometer (3 screws in the rear) and swap it into the Si cluster housing.

im very stupid when it comes to mechancial stuff like switching the gage over... i could put the actual cluster in because ive seen some easy write ups. but if the price isnt too bad then ill just let the dealership do it.

Thank you .my problems are solved

if you switch a DX speedo into a SI cluster they dont match colors so it will look off.

If he's talking about the 92-95 Si cluster, they are the same. If he wants a 99-00 Si cluster, he's a little over his head with wiring and fitment. Of course, rolling back the mileage on a 99-00 Si cluster is MUCH easier than a 92-95 Si.

Remove the rubber tip from the trip reset. Remove the bezel by pushing in the clips. Unscrew the three screws behind the speedometer. The gauge comes out. Put in your speedo/odo into the Si cluster housing. Reassemble.
