Default d16z6 vs d16y8

Ok forgive me for my ignorance.

I will be picking my my new car tonight which has a d16z6 motor in it.

I have seen that y8 heads /intake manifolds etc. Are pretty cheap and I understand that most honda motor parts are interchangable.

Thus could I get a cheap y8 head and intake manifold and port them out and then swap them on to my z6 block?

Also anything you guys would like to share I am sure will be helpfull.

You can, but what's the point? Why not just pick up a Z6 head and intake manifold?

i bet that that new edelbrock one for the y8 would be pretty badass too for it.

i believe that the z6 head flows better at higher rpms, and that the y8 manifold is better than the z6 one. i'd look into puttin a y8 mani on the z6 head as a fairly cheap mod to do

there was a HUGE thread a while back about z6 vs y8 differences. search for it cause i know it will give you all the answers youre looking for and then some. all specs on both, and differences as far as which is better for what. look in archives.

cause I can get a y8 set (head and intake manifold) cheap. That way I could port it, and put a cam in it while still driving the car, then swap them and go from there.

Maybe I'll just get the manifold from him and start looking for a z6 head to work on.

Thanks guys.

BTW how long am I a "Trial User" for?

Or, you can pick up both and sell the Y8 head to someone for the same price that you bought both the head and manifold.....just a thought.

Your a trial user for about a month......I believe.
