Default d16z6 turbo

i have a eg coupe with a d16z6. the motor has 223k and it runs good. really good and doesnt burn or anything and i was wanting more power. i was thinking about a ebay turbo kit and run 7lbs on an fmu for a few months then get it dyno tuned on chrome. will this be a good idea for a fun second car? or should i do a dohc swap. no stupid replies please i just want some input

Everything you said is fail. 7lbs (doesn't mean anything without knowing what actual turbo you are using)+ Ebay (crapshoot. Sounds like you'll be getting teh cheapest kit you can find) + FMU (ancient tech not suitable for anything but being a doorstop) + No budget + No power goal=Boom!

If youre really going to turbo it with an eBay kit (we all know he will no matter what we say) the very least you should do is get it rebuilt at blaast performance (yes that is spelled correctly). Its a minor cost for the life of your motor and turbo. They rebuild turbos with garrett internals.
