d16z6 starts great but won't rev! no codes!
Just put this motor in. Have checked the timing multiple times now. no cel codes. cranks right up at the turn of the key. Idles low but decent... will not rev at all. you touch the gas even the slightest it will just die. sometimes I can get it to rev if I play with the pedal as I'm cranking. but even then it revs maybe twice and dies. checked fuel pressure, new pump and I went ahead and threw my new injectors in and set the map. running live tune on crome i can get the idle to be great but no matter what it will not rev. very frustating hahaha. I only tune hondas, never had to deal with trouble shooting before so I'm lost LOL. this is my first one

maybe try running it on a stock ecu?
quick question: doesn't tuning involve trouble shooting somewhere along the way, sometimes things go wrong and you have diagnose in order to tune right?

Fixed it. TPS!!!!
It depends.. I get paid to tune cars. I set people up with base maps so they can figure these things out before they get to the dyno with me. If there is an issue they fix it. I just tune. I personally own RX7's and build them. I don't do honda's hahaha.

Re: d16z6 starts great but won't rev! no codes!
sorry to thread jack...but since no one can answer my question similar to this, ill post here. same thing with me. runs great, but wont rev past 3k and get this..no CEL codes! I have unplugged different sensors to see if the ecu is reading and it shows the codes for whatever i unplug. just wonr let me rev and higher. the ecu is chipped so could it be launch control? and if so, how would i turn it off?

if you have a d16z6 "accord2civic2prelude", then you don't have launch control.
check your tps and map sensors, and if that's not it, check your spark plug setup. my buddy yanked my sparky plugs off the old dizzy when I was replacing it so I had to play doctor and figure out what went where. In the end, the closest I got was it was running, rough, but would only go up to 3k rpm. make sure you have the proper sparky wire placement. And then I looked up on teh interwebz what the proper sparky setup was (1-3-4-2) for the d16z6 and it fixed it.
