Default d16z6 question?

I have a 95 civic d16z6. I read that you can get around 200whp with stock internals on this motor. If this is true what do I need to do to get to that point? I have a supercharger with an 8 pound pully(its not on yet) but that might put me at 140 whp Im guessing, but whats next? Thanks for any help.

supercharger is not great the hp cost to make the extra hp is alot more than the nothing that it take a turbo. However a supercharger will not have the spool up time like a turbo. i say sell the supercharger buy a turbo or NOS is you only option NOS is cheap

But where does the rest of the 200whp come from after the turbo or whatever?

A turbo or a supercharger isnt going to put me at 200whp by itself is it?

omg u have a ton to learn turbo's can add as much power as your engine can handle, all you have to do is up the boost/psi and it will add more power simple its possible to have 500 hp on a d-series if it is tuned correctly and built like a *****

it all depends on the boost if you build the engine and boost the **** out of it you could get 300whp. Hell you could boost the **** out of your engine, but it might pop

So thats why they are telling me to go turbo and not supercharger because you can boost it more, but limited with a supercharger, right?

no SC are upgradeable but it costs a lot more lets say a Sc for your engine is 2300 bucks plus 200 for the upgrade pulley's and so forth turbo you can piece together andpay around 900 for all of it and have more power than youe engine can handle stock of course

NO a super charger uses the engine to make boost so it makes hp with hp. so say you will gain 60 hp with 6lbs of boost in a supercharger you may gain 60 and loose 20 to run the supercharger. A turbo is alot more efficient for small engines so you gain 60 use 0 to get the gain. Reaserch how a turbo works and how a super charger works both boost the engine the turbo has more lag while a super charger will have a more even powerband. So if you have say a mustang 5.0 you can afford to give up a bit of hp to gain alot and get a faster car that feels closer to naturally aspirated.
