d16z6 & d16y8
ok currenly i have a 94 ex civic when i bought it, it had a g15 greddy turbo kit, but little did i know there was a boost leak. so when i fixed it .. about 100 miles later.. well it doesnt run now.. anyway i wanted to know what motor to get since the one in it is a d16z6 but i cant find a replacement anywhere i see alot of d16y8s.. i dont want to spend alot to get this fixed i may just make it stock and take the turbo off of it..
Thanks for your time
Shaun
Also.. i did do some searchin on this but turned up with the d16y8

So, looks like your car originally came with a z6. So you should be fine.
EDIT: And as long as you use the whole engine (not swapping heads or whatever), swapping the y8 is easy and will work too. You have to mess with the OBDII to OBDI though.

both blocks would work fine. if i were you i would take the engine apart see what damage there is if the block is ok i would buy new rods and pistons and put the turbo on that.
