im 19 and a mechanic in uk my mate had a vti EG and smashed it up i bought it off him for £500 and completed the engine swap yesterday and it was running perfect swap went very smoothly and was pretty much **** easy as i had the other car i had all the linkages ecu drive shafts and all that but any way i took it out after putting my reconned calipers and disks and pads allround i drove it for like 2 hours with out bringing the vtec in cause it had been sat for like 6months and then i started giving it some and the cllutch just smelt like it was on fire for like 5 hours and now its fucked slips in every gear at 3000 ive got a receipt a new one was fitted 5000 miles ago so basically i need a new one and i dont wanna be changing it every 5000 miles what clutches are good ? anyone heard of exedy? on ebay theres a exedy clutch and flywheel (lightened) for £400

ps 1 useful thing i learned and would like 2 pass on to others who are doing this swap you do not need the vti hubs as your esi ones are the same you do of couse need the driveshaft as it is larger on the gearbox end

I thought my sohc vtec was fast and sounded nice but the first time i heard that dohc kick in i thought there was somet wrong lol cause i never been in one before so i backed off then nailed it and *** there fast shame about the clutch but shell be back with a performance clutch flywheel and ecu remapped to go up santapod 26th jap show sorry to ramble on advise on the clutch much appreciated
