D16Y8 swap: Do I need to replace the water pump and head gasket?
Hey guys i bought a d16y8 from a person i know and i have a question this guy tells me i have to change the water pump and head gasket during every swap i don't believe this what you guys think

maybe he is trying to get you to do this so that it fixes a problem with the engine without you knowing about it... prob. trying to get one over on you .. my first thought to mind..... maybe sold you a not so good motor.. but buying a used motor you would wanna take care of maint. stuff like waterpump, t-belt. seals, stuff like that. but doesnt seem like it in your case
