D16Y8
Hi everybody !
As Iīve just registered to this forum, this is my first thread !
What kind of n/a tuning would you do on an B16Y8 SOHC 125hp 96īCoupe?
Right now, itīs still all stock.
I was thinking about reaching about 180 horses. Is that realistic ?

Re: D16Y8 (McTwist)
you mean D16. not very realistic 180 n/a. if you got the money then by all means knock yourself out.
oh and another thing. try and search. there has been alot of discussion lately about D series motors.

Re: D16Y8 (McTwist)
as was already posted, that's gonna take some work to make 180 na.. but it is possible if you crack open the engine and do some major work.
if you just want bolt ons, it'll only happen with forced induction.
btw, welcome to the forum!

Re: D16Y8 (McTwist)
u would need high compression pistons, a cam, some headwork, different ecu, i/h/e. its alot of work to get 180 hp from the d-series. there are a couple of guys that have gotten 160 at the wheels which is pretty much 180 at the crank maybe a lil more. try asking builthatch. u can build the engine relatively inexpensively using honda parts but it takes quite a bit of research. plus i doubt that u can handle doing these mods yourself so factor in the costs of having someone do it for u and than tuning of course. it can be done and do a search lately there seems to be quite a few people getting into building up the d-series.

If you ask again and don't do a search for "D series Upgrades" I am going to constantly flame you for being a retard.
That post is long as hell and has a lot of insight and knowledge in it.

Re: D16Y8 (SHAUNTS99)
Hey, can anyone tell me, where to order the TB and stuff at ?
Problem is : I need it shipped to europe. Except for OEM onda (which ist pretty expensive), itīs very hard to get a hold of parts like those mentioned.
Thanks a lot,
