Default D16y8?

if i put a D16y8 motor will i get about 230hp with a ported and polished head and a skunk2 cam gear, p20 ECU with hondta, and then go turbo? or would i get more power by doing a mini me with putting the y8 head on my y7 block and doing all of the same work?

thanks,

i suggest the ex transmission .. then the head .. the head alone gains will probably be worthless .. or just tranny then boost

230WHP shouldn't be that hard with the right turbo. i've got the greddy kit on my a6/z6 and at 12 psi i put down 218 to the wheels and my turbo is tiny!

230whp out of a NA Y8 is gonna cost $10K.

You would need a cam that only idles at 2K RPM and a 13K RPM redline

now a boosted Y8 could do it, not on stock internals for very long though.

I agree... do the transmission first then go from there.

Just turbo your engine now and drop an EX transmission.

Yup, VTEC is overrated. If you have it already, great. If you don't, who cares.

the y8 tranny is geared a lot better than the y7, your car will be a little faster just be swapping it out.

well putting 230 to the wheels, its impossible! Well maybe for the first 10 runs!! You will tear your internals up with out a full rebuild! Your stock internals are only made to handle soo much, think about it, research, it'll make you think more, and more, and more. Eventually you get answer! (someday)

I hope your talking about using a Turbo cam, if you're talking about a skunk2 stage 1,2....etc cam then your not gonna make that kind of power. The profiles of those cams will **** you up.
