Icon6 D16Y7 High idle/ running rich

I have a 00 Civic hb with a d16y7. The problem I am having is at start up it will idle at 1800 rpm then jump up to 4000. The only way to get it back down is to unplug the MAP sensor. I have changed every sensor on the throttle body as well as the tb itself. The other issue i am having is the car runs rich, I don't know if this is because of the idle problem or not. I will burn a full tank of gas in about 50 miles. The last issue is while driving if I go past 1/8th throttle the car bogs out until I let off the throttle. I have taken the car to 3 different shops and nobody can figure it out. I have spent a lot of time on honda-tech looking for anything like this so I am sorry if this post is already here. PLS help.

Do you have a stock set up?

What CEL codes are being thrown?

At high idle, can you kill the engine by covering/blocking the top of the throttle body?

Have you checked the mechanical timing?

It is bone stock. Haven't had any codes. Yes if I cove the throttle body it will die. Mechanical timing is good checked it 3 times. Also this is the second engine that has done this in this car.

Does the CEL work? Have you tried to pull codes with a code reader?

Is the throttle body adjusted too tightly or is the throttle body dirty?

How old are the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor? Is the igintion timing set to spec?

hi, the problem with your D16Y7 its a vacuum leak

you need to replace the throttle body gasket with a new one, and tighten the screws to prevent a vacuum leak

if the high rpm persist, you need to remove two small screws from the IACV and spray some WD-40 inside

The CEL dose work, I have about 1/2 inch of slack on the throttle and it is clean, plugs wires cap and rotor have less then 100 miles and timing is set.

check your O2 sensor and you might have a cat. converter.

check all the vacuum lines in the IM, if there any one broken or so, replace it.
when you install a new vacuum hose, also need to use a pair of clamps to prevent any leakage of vacuum

you need to see if you have leaking fuel lines

What the **** are you talking about, he might have a cat. converter?

He said if he covers the TB it dies, doesn't sound like an air leak to me, at least not one big enough to make it rev to 4k, plus he said it's "rich", air leaks lean it(the idle) way out.

This may sound silly, but are you sure the TB is closing all the way? Something doesn't seem right with no codes being thrown.

I just pulled the engine, and sold it, so I don't have to worry about it anymore. The TB was closed all the way, couldn't find any leaks or anything that could even come close to be the cause of the problem.
