iam looking at swapping my 97 civic to a d16y8 and was wondering what all i would need to do that already have a block on the way. just need to know if i just need a head or do i need a new intake manifold is it easier to get a new wiring harness or just run the wires for the vtec.

If all you have is the head you'll need an intake manifold, throttle body, and throttle cable as well.

Let me know if you need any of this:

I happen to have some y8 parts for sale, and they're automatic so you can avoid any wiring issues.

Pardon me for asking but how do you plan on doing a swap if you don't even know what parts you are supposed to have and don't even have a proper set of instructions to follow?

A quick Google search gave me this
d16y8 tranny
d16y8 engine (complete)
d16y8 ecu
The d16y8 exhaust manifold WILL change thus you will need a new exhaust system. Everything back will be ex exhaust items.
If you search you can find everything you're looking for.

Just wondering..What makes the automatic easier for swapping?
